1989.03.01 SMILE - London, England - Monty Cantsin (Mark Pawson)
Mark Pawson was, as far as I know, the 1st person to compile a history of SMILE. This was well-nigh 'impossible' to do, even at the time, thanks to the substantial production of SMILEs that'd occurred in the preceding 5 years. Mark, being the dedicated Mail Artist that he was/is, was in touch with far more of the SMILE editors than most - hence his ability to make such a comprehensive list.
This list was later reproduced in the Victoria & Albert Museum's "SMILE CLASSIFIED" that functioned as the catalog for their SMILE exhibit. The scan here is from that catalog but the original appeared in Mark's SMILE.
