2024 SMILE No.40 NEO-NEOISM SPECIAL - Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Paris - more or less anonymous
In te late 1980s Pete Horobin lived in what he called the DATA cell in Dundee, Scotland. tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE & Laura A. Trueseal visited him in 1988. During the visit, we were very active. This would've been a highpoint of neoist activity in Scotland, in all 3 of the Scottish cities listed above.
In 2019, Monty Cantsin (Istvan Kantor) organized the 40th anniversary celebration of the birth of Neoism - excluding tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE out of fear that t,ac might oppose Kantor's desperate attempt to be a cult leader. Around the same time, in Dundee, the idea of creating this SMILE No.40 was born, largely celebrating Neoist activity in Scotland. t,ac wasn't banned from this.
The lockdowns & quarantines stalled the SMILE until 2024. I'm happy to see that it eventually came into existence. A full pdf of the issue may be avilable from here:

but I may not've done that right. Here're scans of the front & back cover & 4 of the inside pages. For those of you interested in witnessing some of the movies made in 1988 during t,ac & L.A.T.'s visit to the DATA cell, here's the skivvy on those:

One comment about the above is that the seals weren't showing "hostility", a baby seal crawled onto land toward where I was squatting & I moved to stand up which was taken as an aggressive act by the baby seal who reacted by raising its back. This misunderstanding was quickly resolved. Toward the end of the "Tent's Muir" movie one of the seals can even be seen mimicing my farewell wave as we were leaving. My impression of the seals is that they were highly intelligent creatures.
