1984.09 proposal for Transparent SMILE - Monty Cantsin performing with White Colours - BalTimOre - Monty Cantsin (tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE)

After I returned to BalTimOre from the 8th International Neoist Apartment Festival in London, probably around early June, 1984, I started promoting SMILE to my then huge network of correspondents.

I'd written my explanation of Monty Cantsin & SMILE, etc, in English & then had it translated into Italian by Pam Purdy in BalTimOre, Peter Küstermann translated it into German in Germany, & an Iranian expatriate friend might've translated it into Farsi in BalTimOre. I didn't have any connections in Iran, where Persian's spoken, but since Iran was one of the US's main political enemies at the time & since I didn't prescribe to its foreign policy I was hoping I might somehow reach some kindred Iranian spirits. That didn't happen. Below are the 4 texts.

These texts were then printed in at least 3 publications: Peter Below's "Open Pop Star" (Würzburg, West Germany, December, 1984), Joki Mailart (Jo Klaffki)'s SMILE 2 (Minden, West Germany, April, 1985), & Nenad Bogdanovic's samizdat SECOND MANIFESTo no: 3 (Odzaci, Yugoslavia, July, 1985).
