2022. Conversazione
I've known Peter Lamborn Wilson aka Hakim Bey since the mid-1980s. We corresponded & traded publications. We met in 1989 at the Without Borders anarchist gathering in San Francisco & a couple of times in the 1990s at Dreamtime Village in Wisconsin. We may've crossed paths in New York City. I met him for the last time in December, 2010, when I went to visit him at his home in New Paltz, New York. I'll forever regret not shooting footage of him at the time because visiting him at his home was a wonderful experience. Peter was always full of challenging ideas, brilliantly expressed. He died in 2022. As is inevitably becoming more & more the case in my life as I become more & more of an old man, people who have been important to me in my life are dying & I'm realizing that I no longer have direct access to their genius minds. Fortunately, as is the case with Peter, most, if not all, of these folks were prolific & have left behind a huge enough heritage to keep interested parties such as myself very busy.
A correspondent of mine informed me of my mention in this book. It's very satisfying, especially in my currently ego-undernourished state, to read Peter's praising words.
