Exhibits
I've probably had things I've made in far more exhibits than I remember or that I've bothered to document. The reason for this is that I've always been more interested in non-art contexts for the presentation of my creations & have only participated in art context exhibits as an ephemeral activity. However, it's recently become apparent to me that the extensiveness of my exhibitions is so substantial that it's worth trying to organize references to them in one place, this website.
I don't include screenings because I already have a "Screenings" webpage. I also don't include 'performances' because I have a large network of websites listing as many of mine as I can remember with images & links: Mere Outline. If 'performances' & screenings were listed here, the amount of exhibits might exceed 700. For the moment, trying to remember everything else is very difficult: I'll have to go thru files looking for posters & catalogs. I expect the result to be far from complete but I'll try. Most of the exhibits listed are Mail Art shows. I'll have been one of many participants, I usually won't have attended the show, & I won't know how significant my contribution will have been. As Mail Art shows dwindled after 1997 so did my exhibits. I'm sure I'm leaving out some. E.G.: I remember there being a Mail Art Show at either the Dallas Museum of Fine Art (before 1984) or the Dallas Museum of Art (1984 & after). Unfortunately, I couldn't find the catalog for that so I've left it out. There are 69 exhibits listed below.
