Reviews of Movie Books

I'm a prolific moviemaker. You can see my Sprocket Scientist website here. I like to think that I've been so consistently outside of critic-comfortable categories for so long (42 years now) that there's essentially a collective movie critic mental block against me. Not that I'm complaining or anything (well, ok, actually I am).

Scott Stark, another filmmaker, interviewed me in 1986 in San Francisco about my movie-making & published an edited version of the interview in Cinematograph. Oddly, very little critical attention has been paid to my movie work since then. Peter Walsh & Bill O'Driscoll have been 2 of the most notable exceptions to this black-out.

Nonetheless, I'm obsessed with movies - & not just with making my own. The following list of movie books reviewed only hints at my much larger interests. It might be more revealing to see my list of Favorite Movies by Other People.
