Festivals
This is a list of all the festivals I've participated in. A few that I didn't participate in are included if I was in attendance & if it has some special significance for me. Some that I didn't attend but participated in remotely (such as by showing a movie or by having someone else perform a piece of mine) are included. My non-presence was almost always b/c of a lack of funds for paying to get there.
It recently became prominent to me how important festivals have been in my life. This list represents festivals from when I was age 16 to when I was age 70. Festivals have been times of celebration & cultural conspiracy. When one has esoteric interests & purposes, it's often hard to find fellow travelers, like-minded people. Festivals, especially the ones I participate in, are often rare gatherings of such like-minded people. This can be very exhilarating. Looking back over my life I feel very fortunate to've been able to participate in so many & in so many with such rarified qualities.
