mm
(pronounced: "mmmmm")
m(usic(ian's))m(eetings)
Having been obsessed with (m)usic since I was 13, one of my greatest pleasures & sources of stimulation & inspiration has been listening to, playing, (d) composing, & talking about it. I've also probably gotten into more arguments over (m)usic than over any other subject - including politics. When I was in my late teens, it was customary for a small group of friends to get together & get high & enjoy (m)usic in our various ways.
The older I've gotten, the more project-driven my life's become. The older my friends get, the less time they have for general socializing as they spend more time on their families & professions. While I still get together with my fellow (m)usicians to play, to work on specific projects, there's very little time for just listening to & talking about (m)usic. Hence, the mms were born to revive this pleasure.
However, the project-driven person that I most deeply am can't be satisfied with JUST that. SO, I use the mms as casual performance opportunities, as the basis for movies, as the gene pool for a CD release, etc. Each mm is at least minimally documented with minutes, some are more maximally documented with a feature-length movie. Some of these movies, mostly the shorter versions [September 6, 2016 note: these days the features usually make it to YouTube or the Internet Archive], are put online on my onesownthoughts YouTube channel, shorter ones might make it to my Vimeo channel.
For various reasons, a few portions of the minutes are veiled. Maybe someday they'll become public, maybe not.
If you're even half as much of a (m)usic geek as I am & have an open mind toward (m)usic that's obscure & sometimes difficult, you may find these mmms (mm minutes & mm movies) stimulating. I hope so.
